Be mindful.
At the root of every emotion is the urge to act; impulse is inherent in emotion.
More often than not.
You act these emotional impulses out without a moment of consideration.
Anger translates into lashing out; fear into withdrawal; hurt into tears.
- To stop repeating self-defeating habitual reactions, resulting in the opposite of what you hope for.
- To access that gap between intention and action. To use the power of a veto to break the chain of habit.
- To recognize what ordinarily was an invisible chain of automatic sequences leading you on through life.
To come onto the screen of awareness, suddenly giving you a choice point where before there was none.
Be mindful.
Are you not tired of going along with the impulse to act?
