Stop beating yourself up.

When faced with adversity, your first reaction might be to immediately go into problem-solving mode without first stopping to tend to your emotional needs.

Your automatic reaction when you see something you don’t like about yourself might be to put yourself down.

But what if you can be mindful, even for just a moment of the pain associated with failure or the stress and hardship entailed by difficult circumstances.

To take a step back to your pain with kindness.

To soothe and comfort yourself with compassion and understanding.

To reframe your situation in light of our shared humanity so that you don’t feel so isolated from adversity.

Are we not all flawed and vulnerable?

Are not failures and mistakes apart of being human?
